Charitable support of children and teenagers
Working with children is of special importance to us. This is why we are supporting the often times difficult work of the children’s hospice “Balthasar” in Olpe. Here, terminally ill children and their families are accompanied in their difficult situation of life.
Our support of the children’s circus “Casselly”, which is organised by the town of Remscheid in the autumn holidays every year, has become a fixed establishment. It offers a lot of fun and diversity during the holiday times for many children who cannot go away.
Youth training for the Olympics
As a producer of food, we, Steinhaus, are happy to take on the responsibility for a balanced and conscious diet. Apart from a balanced diet however, sufficient physical activity is of special importance for the healthy development of children and teenagers growing up.
For this reason we have been supporting the German Foundation of School Sports and their competition “Youth training for the Olympics” since the beginning of 2008. This competition offers a nationwide platform for more than 900,000 young talents between the age of 8 to 19 each year. Maximum athletic performance on the level of competitive sports in 15 olympic disciplines is delivered and systematically supported.
HG LTG/HTV Remscheid
For many years we have been supporting the local handball sports. As one of the main sponsors of the handball player’s community Remscheid, the youth support of the team is especially close to our heart.
HG Remscheid is currently proving its ambitions in competitive sports with its best men’s team in the first league.
Cologne Tennis and Hockey Club Stadion Rot-Weiß
Since 2008, we have been the sponsor of the Cologne Tennis and Hockey Club Stadion Rot-Weiß. A traditional sports club which has already produced numerous successful athletes in the disciplines of tennis and hockey. Röntgenlauf (Röntgen Run)
From the regional and town-centred marathon event, the Röntgen Run in and around Remscheid-Lennep has developed into an event with national and by now even international flair. We have been supporting the event since 2001 as one of the main sponsors and are also responsible of the “Pasta Party” which is carried out the evening before the running event.
Charitable support
We support the work of different charity institutions and clubs. As an example, we provide the Remscheider Tafel with articles from production surplusses for the distribution to socially unprivileged people. With our articles, we also support the work of the annual AIDS Gala in Bonn. With the AIDS Hilfe Bonn, this event supports several projects in this important field.
